League of Legends : la mécanique cachée qui vous fera attaquer plus vite !

news tip League of Legends: the hidden mechanic that will make you attack faster!

Some League of Legends mechanics are not clearly explained by the game or its tutorial. However, some are essential to be able to take advantage of the full potential of your champions, and therefore to be able to win more easily. This is the case of the mechanics we are going to talk about today.

While playing League of Legends, you may have noticed that the speed at which your auto-attack restarts after casting a spell can vary.. Sometimes you manage to chain an ability with an attack almost instantly, and sometimes it feels like your character waits a good second before getting back to hitting. Today, we show you how to be able to chain all your abilities with an instant attack, thanks to animation cancellation (also called cancel animation Where animation cancel).

Ryu soon in League of Legends

If this mechanic has existed in League of Legends since the game was released, it is however much older than the MOBA of Riot Games. We already saw it, for example, in the fighting game Street Fighter II, where it was possible to chain combos slightly before the first attack was completely over, provided you had good timing of course.

An attack or skill animation on a champion is split into three partsmeasured in frames (= number of images). There are the starting frameswhere the character is preparing to cast a spell without it being active yet, the active frameswhere the character performs his attack which will inflict damage if it hits his opponent, and the recovery frameswhere the character returns to its original position.

He’s not a LoL champion, but he illustrates the principle well

The whole principle of animation cancellation lies in attacking at the time of the third part, in order to cancel the latter and go directly to the next attack animation. By doing so, you will gain a few precious seconds and can chain your attacks more easily, regardless of the champion played.

A story of timing

You may never have really noticed it, but a lot of skills show a loading bar at the bottom of your screen, even for the most basic skills. All the salt of the trick lies in the fact of launching an auto-attack (with your right click therefore) right when the bar comes to an end. If your timing is right, your character won’t cast recovery frames, and will cast your attack instead.

As you can see in this video, when animation undo works, the difference is striking. Once mastered, this trick could allow you to chain attacks and skills much more quickly, which could ultimately win you more duels, or even teamfights. Be aware that this technique even works with skills without a loading bar, and that you are probably already using it sometimes without realizing it.. This is what allows you to chain two auto-attacks when your champion has a buff skill like Jax for example.

Of course, this kind of tricks will be more effective on characters inflicting heavy damage on their basic attacks than on mages.. But even mages sometimes need to make basic attacks to achieve all their damage, so don’t hesitate to practice!
