Le centre de tri de la Poste à Dillon à Fort-de-France est bloqué – Martinique la 1ère

Dillon postal workers began a picket in front of the mail sorting center on Wednesday May 18 at the call of the CGTM-PTT union. They denounce the abolition of positions following a reorganization of services. After two days of negotiation, the strike notice came to an end this Wednesday, May 18.



Tires and wooden pallets are placed in front of the entrances to the Dillon sorting center in Fort-de-France. An action has been carried out by the CGTM-PTT since midnight this Wednesday, May 18, 2022.

The Dillon mail center which supplies all offices in Martinique is closed. The new reorganization envisaged by management does not pass with the staff.

The strikers denounce job cuts and the establishment of a new organization of work. For many of the employees present this Wednesday morning on the site, this change in the organization will, according to them, deteriorate their working conditions. 24 job cuts are planned according to the CGTM union.

The management of La Poste, in a press release, this Wednesday morning, specifies thata platform of 24 demands concerning the activities located on the site in Fort-de-France Dillon was presented and that negotiations within the framework of the notice took place on Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 May 2022.

The management/union meeting ended with 3 points of disagreement. With regard to the upgrading of organizations: Planned at a rate of 3 years maximum, the adjustment of work organizations with traffic is made necessary to install new activities related to tailor-made services delivered to companies or proximity to individuals… The distribution organization carried out by postmen in Fort-de-France has been overhauled, for which the bodies for sharing with the social partners have been convened.

The management of the Post Office mentions in its press release thata previous notice bringing together a platform of demands signed by the 4 representative trade union organizations was concluded by a memorandum of understanding signed on 1 April. Although this protocol has already been the subject of implementation meetings in consultation with the social partners, several points that have been agreed are found in the notice tabled on May 11.
